After the 1868 earthquake, the family repaired the original adobe and moved in while they built the house you are standing in today, a wood Victorian in Italianate style.
Antonio lived in this house with his daughters Paula and Rosa for the last nine years of his life.
Antonio's son Fernando, with his young family, lived in the smaller adobe. A few Native American servants also lived at the site, for a total of 14 people.
