About Us .
Every Human Being Makes History at Peralta Hacienda Historical Park.
Friends of Peralta Hacienda Historical Park (Friends) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization.
Friends was founded to create and maintain a park in a district with the lowest per capita open space in Oakland; and to rescue and interpret the history of the once vast Rancho San Antonio and the historic Antonio Peralta House.
The park offers indoor and outdoor historical exhibits, a community garden, native plant garden, recreational and activity areas and the Peralta Creek nature area. Friends offers tours, hands-on field trips, afterschool and summer programs, and community events. Friends also develops special exhibits and publications, and spearheads completion of the park master plan.
Mission
The Mission of Friends of Peralta Hacienda Historical Park is to promote understanding and historical healing in a diverse and changing community, giving voice to the many cultures that have created—and are still transforming—California
